The main research laboratories conducting activities in LRT in Romania are RACAI lab in the Romanian Academy, Bucharest , the Department of Computer Science of the Alexandru Ioan Cuza University in Iasi, and the Institute of Computer Science of the Romanian Academy, also in Iasi, which hosts the Voiced Sounds of Romanian Language.The Language Resources and Tools developed for Romanian are described in the pages of the ConsILR (Consortium for the Romanian Language).

  - The Institute of Computer Science of the Romanian Academy, also in Iasi, with the entry point at http://www.iit.tuiasi.ro, which hosts the Voiced Sounds of Romanian Language at http://www.etc.tuiasi.ro/sibm/romanian_spoken_language/index.htm, a portal organized by the team of Prof. Horia-Nicolai Teodorescu.

There are also other teams/people working in the HLT area in Bucharest, Cluj and Timisoara, including private initiatives and industrial, but they are less important.
