FLaReNet Summary

Austria participates through the Technical University of Vienna in the CLARIN project. Existing Languages Resources are presently being integrated into the CLARIN Catalogue. There is since 2001 an on-going project to produce the Austrian Academy Corpus (AAC). At the University of Vienna, the Faculty of Computer Sciences of the University of Vienna is conducting the JETCAT project on Japanese-English translation, and the Department of English produces the Vienna-Oxford International Corpus of English (VOICE), funded by the Austrian Science Fund. The Section for Artificial Intelligence of the Medical University of Vienna also conducts research on Natural Language Processing, and develops a language dialog systems in German within the VIE-:LANG project.
