5.1.3.1. Belgium / Flanders

FLaReNet Summary

Many of the resources recently created have originated within the Dutch/Flemish TST 'STEVIN' program of the Dutch Language Union (which is a transnational organization, under direct control of ministries of The Netherlands, Belgium, and the Flemish region in Belgium). STEVIN ran from 2005-2010 (some projects may continue into 2011). Resources created within this program are available via the TST-Centrale (i.e. distribution agency for Dutch SLT materials). Several HLT groups in Flanders also have their own resources outside the HLT Central. It seems that there is no centralized repository or catalogue of these, but the Flemish HLT community is organized within CLIF (Computational Linguistics in Flanders), and the websites of all groups in Flanders working on language and speech technology can be accessed through the CLIF website.
