At the academic level, the following institutions/universities are the most active in the domain, often related to:

- University of Balamand.
   Speech recognition, speaker recognition, language modelling, SMT, handwriting recognition, mostly supported by French and European funds.

- Lebanese University: Institute of legal information systems.
   They collected a huge database of legal texts (annotated) with indexing and morphological analysis.

- a large number of newspaper editors: Annahar, AlMustaqbal etc.;

- a large number of TV stations that do have a lot of content (MTV, LBC, NBN, ...);

- several telecom industrials that use mainly basic TTS and ASR.
