Programs

Canada has a special agency for HLT: the LTRC (Language Technology Research Center) / CRTL (Centre de Recherche en Technologies Langagières) (Web: http://www.crtl.ca - Chair: Pierre Isabelle). It is a non-profit organization located on the campus of the Université du Québec en Outaouais at Gatineau, Québec. The director is Mr Alan Bernardi (e-mail: alan.p.bernardi@gmail.com). For the time being, the Centre has a low funding. However P. Isabelle team at CNRC/NRC (National Research Council Canada -Web: http://www.nrc-cnrc.gc.ca) (about a dozen researchers and engineers) has been especially created for going to work at the CRTL. CNRC also has another team working on NLP, lead by Joel Martin, located on its Ottawa campus.
