There is a national project funded by Djibouti for the development of LR, as well as of transcription tools and Machine Translation for the Somali and Afar languages.

Djibouti hosts the African HLT Association, created in January 2010 (http://www.africanhlt.com).

In this framework, there is a project supported by the Association for the production of LR (data and tools) for 12 languages selected by the ACALAN (African Academy of Languages of the African Union) as African transnational languages.
