S2 – Services and Functionalities for an Open Resource Infrastructure

There is worldwide consensus toward the idea that establishing an Open Resource Infrastructure will enable users to deploy language resources (broadly conceived, also encompassing tools) to their full potential, by helping them overcome the problems related to accessibility rights and interchange formats.

In Europe, such an infrastructure will be addressed by the new T4ME Network of Excellence.

However, setting up and populating an Open Resource Infrastructure is a complex task.

This session aims at highlighting the major technical issues that need to be addressed, from a number of different perspectives: data maintenance and preservation, interaction with user community, interoperability, infrastructure efficiency and sustainability, governance, trustability etc.
